Redmi 2 Custom Recovery [TWRP]


Redmi 2 [HM2014811 & HM2014813 - TWRP 2.8.4.1 Recovery (CN)

For advanced users , as fastboot from command prompt required

Please flash at your own risk

Prerequisites:


  1. Developer options enabled (in Settings -> About phone tap 5 times on MIUI version)
  2. USB debugging enabled in Settings -> Developer options (MIUI 6: Settings -> Additional Settings -> Developer options)
  3. Install Mi-PC Suite tools (ENGLISH) -> Download Here
  4. Install minimal_adb_fastboot_v1.1.3_setup.zip. > Download Here
  5. hm2014811_TWRP_CN_2.8.4.1.img or hm2014813_TWRP_CN_2.8.4.1.img

Flashing TWRP recovery via fastboot  from PC/laptop :

Boot your device into fastboot mode: with the phone switched off press the Volume DOWN and POWER buttons at the same time
Connect your device to PC via USB cable
Open a command prompt in the directory where the fastboot.exe is located. (Prerequisites #4 above)
Download the files (Prerequisites #5 above)  into the same folder as where fastboot.exe is located.

Depend on your device mode, replace the x with either '1' or '3'. Enter the following command in the command prompt;

fastboot flash recovery hm201481x_TWRP_CN_2.8.4.1.img

Flashing will be done in a flash (if you done it correctly) and should only take a few milliseconds.
After-which, disconnect your device from the PC/laptop, reboot your device, and reboot into recovery.
It should reboot into the CWM-based recovery.


Apply TWRP- theme (to convert into English)

Download your desired theme from the following xda forum, choose the 720p display format : Here

Rename it to "ui.zip", and save it into the following folder: /sdcard/(0)/TWRP/theme (* create this subfolder if needed - case-sensitive!)
Reboot into TWRP recovery to see it take effect.
